A new program offered through the Tennessee Department of Workforce Development, Microsoft and WIA Services offers free Microsoft training and certification. The cost of this training normally can cost up to $1,000. This program is open to Walters State employees and students.
The program, Elevate America-Tennessee, runs through July 26. Training may be completed online (with access provided free for the needed software). To access the training, simply visit http://elevateamerica.tn.gov/ and request a voucher. The voucher permits access to both the training and the software. Vouchers are available for online courses in these areas:
· Computer Basics for Beginners
· Intermediate Level Business courses are available for Microsoft Windows Vista, Office 2003 or Office 2007.
· Advanced Level IT Professional vouchers allow technical professionals to select the training of choice from Microsoft’s online learning library for IT professionals and developers. At this level, training is free but the cost of certification exams is not covered.
All vouchers must be activated by July 26, 2010. Online courses will be available for a year, but certification exams must be completed by July 26, 2010.
This is a rare opportunity for free training in popular private and public sector software and we hope many people will take advantage of Elevate America-Tennessee. Please share this information with anyone you think would be interested.
